trauma-informed therapy

Trauma-informed therapy aims to build a solid foundation for trust to develop. We create a safe space together to gather the resources needed to work with emotional struggles and to change how daily challenges impact our lives. When you feel safe in therapy, you can learn and grow from challenging experiences toward greater well-being, happiness and satisfaction.

Trauma-informed therapy is the key to understanding your experiences, without becoming flooded, overwhelmed, or re-traumatised when revisiting painful issues.

a strengths-based approach

When we enter therapy, we often want to change behaviour or feelings we have struggled with for a while. We can often feel frustrated, worn down or overwhelmed.

A strengths-based approach to therapy starts by focusing on what is working. We look for the wisdom in our efforts to persevere, in spite of life’s challenges. We begin to cultivate awareness of what has happened to us in our lives or what we’ve struggled with emotionally as the natural outcome of having to deal with extra amounts of stress. Therapy helps us start to recognize our unique strengths and use them to take better care of ourselves.
