sex therapy
Sex is one of our most intimate experiences and can evoke vulnerability, uncertainty, or difficulty putting words to what we feel. Psychosexual therapy is a specialised form of talk therapy that offers a safe, respectful space to explore sexuality, intimacy, and pleasure—either individually or within a relationship.
At Elemental, Renée supports you to better understand your relationship with sexual intimacy and your body. This work may involve learning how your body functions, making sense of emotional or relational influences on sexuality, supporting healing, and clarifying what you want, need, or desire.
Psychosexual therapy can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including:
Trauma recovery
Healing the impact of trauma on sexual identity, intimacy, and sexual functioning.Body and sexual functioning
Performance concerns, low desire, pain, sexual shame, or disconnection from the body.Sexual confidence and self-esteem
Developing assertiveness, agency, and a more secure sense of sexual self.Compulsive sexual behaviours
Exploring patterns around sex or pornography use with curiosity rather than judgement.Communication difficulties
Finding language for sexual needs, boundaries, and desires.Relationship-based sexual concerns

Renée is currently completing a Master of Science in Medicine (Psychosexual Therapy / Sexology pathway) at University of Sydney. This specialist training explores human sexuality from a psychosexual therapeutic perspective, including sexual functioning, sexual and gender diversity, HIV and STIs, ageing and sexuality, disability and sexuality, and a range of contemporary therapeutic models used in sexual health and psychosexual therapy.
